Hannover Re promotes Hermenier to Managing Director, Klass to retire

Global reinsurer Hannover Re has announced the appointment of Vincent Hermenier as Managing Director.

He will be taking over the role from Sigrid Klass, who will be retiring from the company June 30, 2025 after more than 35 years of service.

As MD, Hermenier will oversee a wide range of property and casualty insurance markets across France, the Benelux, the Nordics, Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, Türkiye, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Maghreb, West Africa, and Israel.

Hermenier has been with Hannover Re for over two decades, having joined the company in 2004 as a Senior Underwriter, focusing on P&C Treaty in France and the Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa.

He was then promoted to General Manager, a role he held for 12 years. During this time, he focused on P&C Treaty for France, Benelux, Israel, Greece, Malta and Africa.

In related news, Hannover Re recently announced numerous other new appointments, including Lena Kettler as Global Head of Claims (P&C), a newly created position, and Rhonda Hasell as General Manager and Chief Financial Officer for Hannover Re Bermuda.
