Continental Re appoints Sang as Head of Underwriting for Eastern Africa Region

Pan-African reinsurer Continental Reinsurance has announced the appointment of Felix Sang as Head of Underwriting for the Eastern Africa Region, based in the firm’s Kenya office.

Sang has over 15 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, with a proven track record in underwriting, risk management, and reinsurance program structuring.

Through his career he has gained expertise in treaty underwriting, corporate business development, and capacity-building across markets in Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.

“Felix’s expertise aligns with Continental Re’s commitment to providing innovative and reliable risk solutions across Africa,” a Continental Re spokesperson stated.

Sang is joining Continental Re from SanlamAllianz Reinsurance, where he most recently served as Senior Treaty Underwriter | Anglophone & Indian Ocean Islands.

He has also held key leadership roles at Allianz Africa, Jubilee Insurance, and Britam Insurance, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening reinsurance portfolios and driving underwriting profitability
