Steenbergen appointed member of AXA’s Board of Directors to replace Duan
Ewout Steenbergen, current Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Booking Holdings Inc., has been appointed as a member of AXA’s Board of Directors to replace Rachel Duan as she intends to resign from her directorship at the end of the year.
Steenbergen will replace Daun for the remainder of her directorship, that is until the 2026 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting.
This appointment will be effective from January 1st, 2025 and will be proposed for ratification at AXA’s 2025 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting.
AXA’s Board of Directors selected Steenbergen in light of his strong insurance, technology and financial expertise, and his international executive profile.

Steenbergen has been the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Booking Holdings Inc. since March 15, 2024. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at S&P since 2016.
The executive also served as President, Engineering Solutions at S&P in 2022, when the company merged with IHS Markit. Additionally, he led Kensho Technologies, an artificial intelligence company, from 2018.
Prior to his role with S&P, Steenbergen served as Executive Vice President and CFO of Voya Financial, Inc., a financial services company. He also sits on the Board of Directors of UNICEF USA.
