Arch Insurance appoints Rachida Laazaouzi as Senior Casualty Underwriter

Arch Insurance, a division of Bermuda-based re/insurer Arch Capital Group, has announced the appointment of Rachida Laazaouzi as Senior Casualty Underwriter for the French market.

Based in Paris, Laazaouzi will focus on growing Arch’s casualty portfolio in France, writing primary, umbrella, and excess liability coverage across sectors such as industrial, manufacturing, and rail.

With over 17 years of experience, Laazaouzi is an experienced casualty underwriter. She joins Arch Insurance from CNA Hardy, where she spent the last four years as Senior Casualty Underwriter.

Prior to that, Laazaouzi held underwriting roles at firms including Swiss Re Corporate Solutions and Zurich.

Matthew Brophy, Chief Underwriting Officer at Arch Insurance (EU), expressed enthusiasm for Laazaouzi’s appointment, stating, “Rachida’s comprehensive expertise and technical knowledge of the French casualty market make her an excellent addition to our growing Paris team.”

He added, “Casualty is a core line of business for Arch globally and at AIEU, we’re committed to strengthening our EU-wide presence in the sector through developing local market-leading teams and solutions.”
