Markel names David Pressman Senior Underwriter, Marine Cargo

Markel, the insurance division of Markel Group Inc., has announced the appointment of David Pressman as Senior Underwriter, Marine Cargo, effective immediately.

In his new role, Pressman will contribute to the strategic growth of Markel’s Marine Cargo portfolio in London.

His responsibilities will include managing both new and renewal business, building strong relationships with broker partners, and ensuring a high standard of service.

Additionally, he will focus on identifying opportunities for further profitable growth and assist in the professional development of the Marine Cargo underwriting team.

Pressman brings over 11 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Markel, he worked at AEGIS London, specialising in marine cargo underwriting. Before that, he spent more than eight years at MS Amlin, where he began as a Binding Authority Technician and advanced to the role of Marine Cargo Underwriter.

Pressman will be based in Markel’s London office and will report directly to Brook Styles, Head of Marine Cargo.
