Allianz Commercial appoints Hiscox’s Rob Carslake as new head of London region

Allianz Commercial has hired Hiscox’s Rob Carslake as its new head of London region for mid-market, where he will be responsible for the leadership of Allianz’s London region, shaping the business strategy, as well as delivering on the firm’s underwriting goals.

Overall, he brings over 13 years of expertise across the insurance sector towards the role.

Carslake has a strong underwriting background and extensive market experience with global and regional brokers, therefore making him well-equipped to take on this role.

Throughout his career, Carslake has served in a number of different leadership roles, most recently at Hiscox, where he served as head of event insurance, where he was responsible for account strategy, underwriting and trading performance.

Before Hiscox, Carslake worked at Aviva, where he served as regional trading lead for London and the South East.
