Lissie Van Leunen to lead newly established US Property Insurance at Hamilton Americas
Hamilton Global Specialty, an underwriting platform of Bermuda-based Hamilton Insurance Group, has entered into the US Property Insurance at Hamilton Americas, its US managing agency (MGA).
The company’s entry into the market will be led by Van Leunen as Head of US Property, reporting to Pepe Marquez, President, Hamilton Americas.
She joined Hamilton this month, and will work closely with the firm’s London-based Property Insurance team, led by Mark Johnson.
Based in Hamilton’s Richmond, Virginia office, Van Leunen has been working to build out the Hamilton Americas Property Insurance team, and a portfolio targeting commercial E&S risks, with a goal of introducing products ahead of a January 1st, 2025, launch.
Van Leunen brings 15 years of underwriting experience to the role, joining from CNA Insurance where she served for three years, most recently as Underwriting Consulting Director.
Prior to CNA, she held roles of increasing seniority with both Markel and Argo, also in Richmond, Virginia.
