Envelop Risk launches new underwriting division, appoints Dom Peters as CEO

Data-driven reinsurance and analytics specialist Envelop Risk has launched Envelop Underwriting, appointing Dom Peters to lead the newly established division as CEO.

Envelop+LogoAccording to the firm, Envelop Underwriting will encompass all existing underwriting activities, including Envelop Risk Bermuda and Envelop at Lloyd’s. Aforementioned Peters will reportedly oversee the management and governance functions of Envelop’s underwriting activities and underwriters, with all underwriting, portfolio management and capital functions reporting to him.

Peters holds more than 27 years of industry experience, joining Envelop from Dale Underwriting Partners (Syndicate 1729) where served as an active underwriter.

Before this, Peters was CUO of MS Amlin’s global reinsurance business unit and was a joint active underwriter for Syndicate 2001 from 2014 to 2017. Before that, he served as MS Amlin’s deputy head of reinsurance in London, where he managed the international property treaty and specialty XL portfolio.

Jonathan Spry, co-founder and group CEO of Envelop, and to whom Peters will report, commented, “Envelop Underwriting unifies all our underwriting operations under one strategic framework, which will enhance our underwriting focus and help accelerate Envelop’s growth into new markets.

In related news, Envelop recently unveiled a new services division, Envelop Risk Solutions. As per the firm, this new arm was designed to provide comprehensive support to insurers and reinsurers aiming to enhance their cyber capabilities.
