Tara Hill hires Richard Edsall as SVP

Tara Hill Insurance Services, the newly launched Excess and Surplus (E&S) program administrator, has appointed renowned industry veteran, Richard Edsall as Senior Vice President.

Most recently, Edsall served as SVP of commercial management liability at Argo Pro.

In his new role, he is expected to be responsible for developing an E&S portfolio focused on private management liability and miscellaneous professional liability coverages for small to medium sized risks.

Before he joined Argo, Edsall served as SVP at global insurer, Chubb. During his tenure at Chubb, he managed worldwide directors & officers products for financial institutions.

In addition, Edsall has also previously served in senior positions at Axcelera Specialty and American International Group (AIG).

Tara Hill Chief Executive Officer Peter McKeegan, commented: “Rich is an exceptional underwriter who has built profitable books of business across the commercial and financial institutions spaces. He is well known and well respected for his strategic and technical skills. He is an outstanding addition to our team.”

Addressing his appointment, Edsall said: “I am very excited to be joining Tara Hill and look forward to working with Pete McKeegan and (Cirrata Group President) Naveen Anand in building a best-in-class management liability insurance program.”

Meanwhile, Tara Hill has also appointed Brian McKeegan as a senior underwriter, joining the business from Berkley Professional Liability, where he spent four years working as an underwriter.

Prior to Berkley Pro, he spent three years as an attorney with Genova Burns.
