Thomas Neil Morrison joins Aviva’s Board as Non-Exec Director

Thomas Neil Morrison has been appointed to the Board of Aviva plc, the insurance and financial services company, as a Non-Executive Director.

Based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Neil will become a member of the Aviva plc Nomination and Governance, and Risk Committees.

A renowned figure across the industry, Neil brings over 38 years of experience in the Canadian insurance industry towards  the Board, having most recently served as a Managing Partner and Chair of Platform Insurance Management Inc., a Canadian brokerage.

In addition, he has also previously held executive roles at Hub International Limited (U.S., Canada, Brazil & Caribbean).

Neil also currently serves as Chair of BOXX Insurance Inc., a Canadian-based international cyber security, prevention, and insurance provider.

Moreover, he also previously served as Chair of the Board of Govenors at the Insurance Institute of Canada.

As well as this, Neil also previously served as Chair of WBN – Worldwide Broker Network, based in London, UK.

In their results for the first quarter of 2024, Aviva posted general insurance premiums of £2.7 billion, representing an increase of 16% from the prior year quarter.
