SCOR confirms departure of reinsurance CEO Stuart McMurdo

SCOR, one of Europe’s big four reinsurers, has confirmed that Stuart McMurdo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its reinsurance segment, is to leave the company.
McMurdo joined SCOR in 2018 as CEO of SCOR UK and the SCOR Syndicate, later becoming Regional CEO for EMEA.
In 2022, it was announced that McMurdo would succeed Michel Blanc as CEO of the reinsurance operation.
Commenting on McMurdo’s departure, Jean-Paul Conoscente, CEO of SCOR Global P&C, said: “On behalf of SCOR and myself, I would like to thank Stuart for his dedication to SCOR and for the many things he achieved during the time with the Group.
“His impact in both his Specialty Insurance and Reinsurance roles delivered many positive outputs for SCOR for which the Group thanks him.”
Earlier in his career, McMurdo served as the Head of Reinsurance for Santam Limited, South Africa’s largest short-term insurer. Previously, he worked as General Manager of one of South Africa’s leading retail brokerages, and spent 11 years with Hannover Re in variety of management roles, working in both South Africa and Germany.
