Nirvana names Andrea García-Beltrán as Head of Cyber Europe

Nirvana, a UK-based specialty MGA, has appointed Andrea García-Beltrán to the newly-created position of Head of Cyber Europe.

García-Beltrán, a seasoned veteran in cyber insurance, will assume her role in March. She brings a wealth of experience, having served as Head of Cyber Underwriting at RSA until 2022, followed by a tenure as Head of Finex Latam at Willis Towers Watson.

In 2023, she founded her own cyber consultancy business. With over a decade of experience at Aon and having chaired the Cyber Underwriting Insurance Committee at the International Underwriting Association, García-Beltrán is well-equipped to lead Nirvana’s efforts in developing a new cyber insurance product tailored for small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe.

Based in Barcelona, García-Beltrán will report to Nirvana Chairman and Head of Media, Tech, and Cyber, Rob Jones. Her appointment underscores Nirvana’s commitment to innovation and growth in the cyber insurance market.

Rob Jones expressed his excitement about García-Beltrán joining the team, stating, “Andrea is one of the foremost cyber insurance underwriters in the London market, and we are thrilled that she has chosen to join our growing team at Nirvana.”

He highlighted the vast growth opportunities in the cyber market and emphasised Ms. García-Beltrán’s invaluable experience in navigating this landscape.

García-Beltrán also shared her enthusiasm, stating, “I am thrilled to join Nirvana as the Head of Cyber for Europe, a role that aligns perfectly with my passion for client-focused solutions in the dynamic field of cyber insurance.”

She expressed her eagerness to leverage Nirvana’s expertise to develop cutting-edge products and establish the company as a leader in cyber insurance in Europe.

Kabir Chanrai, Nirvana’s Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, expressed confidence in García-Beltrán’s ability to lead the development of the new European cyber insurance product, emphasising her wealth of product experience.

García-Beltrán’s appointment follows Nirvana’s strategic move in March 2023, when the company appointed industry veteran Thomas M. Mannsdorfer to build out a European underwriting business.

Mannsdorfer, an M&A specialist based in Barcelona, leads a pan-European team focused on developing Warranty and Indemnity (W&I) insurance tailored for SMEs in Europe.
