James Thanasules appointed President of AmTrust Title
Specialty property casualty insurer, AmTrust, has named a new President of AmTrust Title, James Thanasules, who will oversee the company’s operations providing title insurance for the commercial and residential real estate industries.
Thanasules, who brings more than 25 years of experience in the industry, joined AmTrust in 2016 as Senior Vice President, Chief New York State Counsel.
Prior to AmTrust, he was Vice President and Senior Underwriting Counsel for First American Title Insurance Company’s New York Agency Division.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity as it represents the culmination of many years of hard work and dedication to our industry. As I continue to advance on my career journey, I am thankful for all my colleagues – past and present – who helped lay the groundwork for me to lead AmTrust Title as we continue to build out our commercial and residential capabilities on both a regional and sector-specific basis in the United States,” said Thanasules.
Throughout his career, the executive has worked extensively in both the direct and agency title operations.
As a past president of the New York State Land Title Association, he has demonstrated his industry leadership by presenting training courses and continuing legal education (CLE) seminars on a variety of topics such as claims, blockchain, cybersecurity and more.
Thanasules began his career as a financial analyst with Interpublic Group, then worked for New York law firms as an attorney associate before entering the insurance industry.
