Swiss Re Corporate Solutions hands Rüsch and Daftari new roles
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, the commercial insurance arm of reinsurance giant Swiss Re, has appointed Michael Rüsch to the newly created role as Head DACH, and named Bijan Daftari as Head EMEA Strategy & Execution. Both appointments are effective April 1st, 2024.
As the Head of DACH based in Zurich, Rüsch’s remit will include being responsible for managing the company’s strategy, development and performance in the German, Swiss and Austrian commercial insurance markets.
Rüsch has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, having held several managerial roles in underwriting with local responsibilities in Switzerland as well as regional responsibilities in Europe and Asia Pacific. He joined Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in October 2020 as the Country Head Switzerland.
At the same time, Daftari, currently Country Head of Germany and Austria, will assume the newly created role of Head EMEA Strategy & Execution, based in Munich.
In this role, Daftari will act as a strategic advisor to the CEO EMEA Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, Nina Arquint, while supporting her in further development and implementation of the EMEA strategy.
Daftari has spent most of his 25-year career in the German insurance sector and has held various positions in the primary market. He joined Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in January 2017 as Country Manager for Germany.
