American Equity Investment Life reports FIA sales of $2.2bn in Q3 2023

American Equity Investment Life Holding Company has reported that its Q3 2023 sales totalled $2.2 billion, of which 99% of which were in fixed index annuities (FIA).

The company reported that its FIA sales saw an increase of 18% from the second quarter of 2023, and rose by a high 203% from the third quarter of 2022.

At the same time, when compared it Q2 2023, FIA sales in the American Equity Life in the Independent Marketing Organization channel increased by 17%.

Also, the Eagle Life FIA sales through banks and broker-dealers rose 23% over the same period.

Earlier this year, Brookfield Reinsurance, a capital solutions business providing insurance and reinsurance services to individuals and institutions, acquired American Equity Investment Life Holding Company for $4.3 billion

This took the firm’s deployed or committed capital since inception to more than $10 billion.
