BHSI promotes Jean-Francois Leandri to Global Risk Control Officer

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has announced the promotion of Jean-Francois Leandri to the position of Global Risk Control Officer, part of BHSI’s Chief Underwriting Office.

He will continue to be based in Paris andi will be reporting to Dean LaPierre, Chief Underwriting Officer, Property & Marine, BHSI, who commented: “Our risk engineering expertise is integral to our ability to provide superior technical risk underwriting to our customers.

“Jean-Francois’ leadership will ensure a consistent level of excellence in the risk control function that is foundational to our sustainable, long-term underwriting, worldwide.”

Leandri joined BHSI in 2020 as Risk Engineering Manager in France. Trained as both a Boiler & Machinery and Fire Prevention Consultant, he has more than 25 years of engineering experience spanning a wide range of occupancies and geographies.

Prior to BHSI, he served for over 20 years at Global Risk Consultants, where he started as a Cross-trained B&M Fire and Prevention Engineer, before being appointed District Manager.

Leandri’s promotion is one of BHSI’s most recent appointments, which include Louis Bidmead’s as Head of Transactional Liability Insurance for Asia and the Middle East, and Gabriel Poppie’s as Head of Customer & Broker Engagement for the US Central Region.
