AXA XL names Glen Hopkinson as Country Manager for Canada
AXA XL, a leading global insurance and reinsurance company, has announced the appointment of Glen Hopkinson as the new Country Manager for Canada, effective immediately.
Hopkinson, who has demonstrated his capabilities as the interim leader in recent months, will take on the role of overseeing the company’s insurance operations within the country.
Hopkinson brings to the role a wealth of experience garnered from his more than a decade of dedicated service at AXA XL. With a background as a seasoned claims expert, he has held several prominent leadership positions during his tenure.
Notably, he has previously served as the Head of Claims in Canada and has also contributed his expertise as the Transformation Program Director. Most recently, he held the position of Head of Casualty Claims for the Americas, showcasing his aptitude for managing multifaceted responsibilities.
The appointment has garnered praise from within the company, with Joe Tocco, CEO Americas, expressing his confidence in Hopkinson’s ability to lead.
Tocco highlighted Hopkinson’s extensive insurance knowledge, dedication to superior client service, and his reputation as a considerate team leader. These qualities, according to Tocco, position Hopkinson ideally to drive the implementation of AXA XL’s growth strategy in the Canadian market.
Headquartered in Toronto, Hopkinson will provide leadership not only to the local office but also to the company’s regional branches in Calgary, Montreal, and Vancouver.
His responsibilities extend to ensuring strategic alignment and maintaining seamless service delivery for both local and multinational clients, working closely with the Americas Executive Leadership team.
